The Unique Bulgarian nature not only preserved, but also increases the range of biologically active substances in Aronia and it fully justifies its name (translated from Greek – “assistance, benefit”). The Fruit of Aronia is characterized by diverse chemical composition and great riches of vitamins and minerals, which ranks this plant species in the list of especially valuable medicinal plants.

The fruit contains sugars – predominate fructose and glucose, making it suitable for diabetics. Proteins are presented with a variety of amino acids. From the macronutrients Aronia contains Potassium, Calcium, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Iron (1.2 mg.%), etc., and from the trace elements – a record amount of Iodine, Manganese, Molybdenum …

The most valuable content of the Aronia fruits are essential polyphenolic compounds also called vitamin P.

The beneficial effect of these compounds for 60 years astonishes scientists in many different parts of the world and is a constant subject of research in world famous laboratories and research institutes – Institute “Pasteur” in France, Institute of Micro ecology in the city. Herborn, Germany, the University “Georgia” in the United States and others. The unique effect of the flavonoids (high in grapes and red wine) is due – so called “French paradox” – despite the constant use of processed fats in French cuisine, the rate of cardiovascular diseases among the population is extremely low thanks to the daily use of red wine. P – active substances have the extraordinary ability to enhance the biological activity and the stock of vitamin C in the body. Together with vitamin C in the presence of Calcium, Vitamin D in Aronia strengthens connective tissue and protects from capillary bleeding – especially in the brain and heart!
